Email Services

Nodine Legal Technologies offers a wide range of email services. Email services require that you have a domain name to use for your business. A domain name is what comes behind the "@" sign in an email address. For instance, if your email address was user@here.com, the domain name part of that email address is "here.com". Nodine Legal Technologies will work with you to find an available domain name that matches your needs and then secure that domain name for your use. Once you have a domain name we can begin offering your business email services.

Webmail
Webmail is a website where you can go to read and send mail. It is a simple email client that you can access by any website browser anywhere in the world. You just get online and go to the website, enter your information and your sending and receiving!

Mailing Lists
Mailing lists are used to send email to many recipients by sending a single email to the list's email address.

List Servers
List servers are used to allow users to control access to any mailing list. Mailing lists must be administered by someone, a list server makes this administration easy, allowing mailing list users to control their own access. In other words, if someone wants removed from the list, they simply send the list server an email to that effect instead of sending it to you, and then you remove it.

Notifications
Notifications are used to convert an incoming message into a format suitable for delivery to another service such as SMS or instant messaging.

DomainKeys
"DomainKeys is an e-mail authentication system designed to verify the DNS domain of an e-mail sender and the message integrity." See Wikipedia.

SpamAssassin
SpamAssassin is a spam blocking software. See also SpamAssassin.

Greylisting
Greylisting is a tactic used to prevent spam by temporarily rejecting any email from any unknown sender. See also Wikipedia.

Bayesian Filters
Bayesian filters are mail filters used to attempt to identify spam by using Naive Bayes classifiers. See also Wikipedia.

Challenge Response
Challenge response is a tactic used to attempt to prevent spam. When mail is identified as potential spam it is placed in a holding system. The challenge response system then sends an email message to the original sender saying that their message is being held until they verify that they are a real person. They then follow a link in this email to a website where they key in the letters in an image and then the mail message is delivered and they are added to a list of authorized senders.

Black and White Lists
Black lists are list of rules for which mail is rejected. White lists are lists of rules for which mail is accepted regardless of if it appears to be spam or not.

Forwarders, Copiers and Responders
Forwarders allow mail to be sent to an alternate email address when it arrives. For instance, if you wanted to have an email address bob@here.com for your business, but only want to check your personal email account (bob@another.com), we would setup a "forwarder" on bob@here.com to "forward" your mail to bob@another.com, much like the USPS forwards mail.

Copiers allow mail to be copied to an alternate email address. Copiers can be placed on both outgoing and incoming email. In most cases, neither the sender nor the receiver will know that the copy is being sent.

Responders are used to automatically respond to a sender when email is received. These are frequently used to send out a "we received your email" message.

Limits
Limits are methods of controlling use of email services.

Mailbox size is a limit on how much email can be stored on the mail server.

Send data limit/day is a limit on how much data can be sent per day.

Send message limit/day is a limit on how many messages can be sent per day.

Max message size is a limit on the maximum size of any message that can be sent or received.

Expiration date with pre-expiration notification
Expiration date is when the email account will expire and no longer be active.

Pre-expiration notification is an email notice that the email account will expire.
